Obituary of Ellen Zigler

Ellen ZiglerA graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Oak Hill Cemetery for Ellen Zigler of Eugene, who died Jan. 19 of age-related causes at age 80. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.She was born March 31, 1930, in Hayes, S.D., to Winton and Glenara Hedman. She married Calvin Zigler on Dec. 30, 1951, in Pierre, S.D.She received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Denver and her master’s degree from the University of Oregon. She was an elementary school teacher at Twin Oaks, Whitaker and Francis Willard schools in Eugene.Survivors include three sons, John of Ashland, Steve of Springfield and Mike of Piedmont, Calif.; a daughter, Christy Hutchins of Gansevoort, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.
