Avid reader, writer, and poet. Author of three novels. Lover of cats, puzzles, and cheese. Admirer of Elvis, Monet, and Paul Newman. Devotee of all mysteries, from printed word to film. Supporter of social issues, fan of the arts, and speaker of languages. Early adopter of computers. Slipper knitter. Barbie clothes designer. Yogurt maker. Family history keeper. Conscientious, responsible, and organized. Determined, funny, smart, brave, vocal, loving, and feisty.
Adventurer who left her tiny Swiss mountain home, Ligiazun, for the city. Moved to Chicago while teaching herself English. Married a grain and cattle farmer from St. Martin in Manitoba's Interlake. Mother to three children. Clerk for the Department of National Defense. Retired and joined her writing communities, in Brandon and online.
Welcomed with joy into heaven by her mother, Maria Ursula; father, Sep Antoni; brothers, Rest Giusep, Barclamiu, and Gion Martin; sister Valentina; husband, Tom; and all her previous furry meowzers.
Heartbroken from her departure are her daughters, Lynn and Gail; son, Keith; sisters, Onna and Mengia Barla; sister-in-law, Olga; many family members in Switzerland and Canada; her best friends, Marian and Isobel; and her cat, Ellie.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Brandon, MB.
