Obituary of Michael Huey
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Roaring Rapids Pizza Company in Eugene for Michael Ray Huey of Glenwood, who died Feb. 5 of lung cancer due to Agent Orange. He was 60.He was born July 2, 1950, in Easley, S.C., to Thomas and Mary O’Donald Huey.He graduated from Easley High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, from July 1969 to January 1972. He worked for Abel Construction in South Carolina for more than 15 years. Locally, he worked for the TV Doctor in Springfield.Survivors include his life partner, Carla Duffy; four daughters, Mary Helveston of Fort Myers, Fla., Emily Dehaven of Springfield, Peggy Holliday of Harrisburg and Jamie Nova of Korea; five sons, Josh Duffy of Collins, Mo., Jeremy Duffy of Lakeview, and Aurelio Garza, Steven Young and Doug Schely, all of Springfield; two brothers, William of Springfield and Roger of Westfir; a sister, Shannon Johnson of Panama City, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
