Obituary of Mary Ellen Cook

Mary Ellen CookA memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Emerald Baptist Church for Mary Ellen Cook of Eugene, who died Feb. 2 of liver failure. She was 71.She was born Nov. 25, 1939, in Eugene to Harris and Alice Loomis Hurd. She married James “Jim” Cook on Aug. 16, 1958, in Eugene.She graduated from South Eugene High School and from the medical assistant’s program at Lane Community College. She was a medical assistant for Dr. Polansky for 26 years.Survivors include her husband; four sons, Bruce, Todd and Aaron, all of Springfield, and Paul of Arlington, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary of Eugene.
