Obituary of Harold Palmer

Harold PalmerHarold “Hal” Palmer of Eugene died Feb. 17 of age-related causes at age 84. No service is planned.He was born April 25, 1926, in Rochelle, Ill., to Harold and Eldora Strang Palmer. He married JoAnn Birkemeyer on March 17, 1956, in Los Angeles. She died in August 2003.He held a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Redlands in California. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Salem.Survivors include four daughters, Valerie Rosenberg of Eugene, Kelly Palmer-Burns of Upper Lake, Calif., Karen Olson of Denver and Patti Mereness of Phoenix; and six grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
