Obituary of Dan Smith

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Dan Smith of Lowell, who died Feb. 13 at age 59. The family chose not to list the cause of death. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.He was born Jan. 2, 1952, in Sacramento to David and Mary Craighton Smith. He married Mary Quinn on July 4, 1975, in Choctaw, Okla.He worked for Dave’s Tune-Up in Springfield for 10 years and worked as a bus mechanic for the Lowell School District for 12 years.Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mary Jo, now of Dexter; two sons, Danny of Lowell and Jason of Moore, Okla.; a daughter, Carrie Agee of Hot Springs, Ark.; three sisters, Debbie McCracken of Eldorado Hills, Calif., Tina McCracken of Dexter and Nina McCracken of Olathe, Colo.; two brothers, Dave of Cottage Grove and Richard of Creswell; and 13 grandchildren
