Obituary of John Gornto

John M. Gornto of Springfield died Feb. 20 at the age of 70. The family chose not to list the cause of death. No service is planned.Gornto was born Dec. 5, 1940, in Savannah, Ga., to Frank and Mamie Mock Gornto. He married Sandra Rhinevault on July 2, 1965, in Tacoma.He served in the Army for two years during the Vietnam era. He worked as a janitor most of his working life, retiring in 2002.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Frank and Andrew, both of Springfield, and Charles of Portland; a brother, Robert of Miami, Fla.; and one grandson.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.
