Perry PowersPerry John “Jack” Powers of Eugene died March 7 of heart disease. He was 91. No service is planned.He was born July 28, 1919, in Salem to Warren and Mabel Smith Powers. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and a doctorate from Johns Hopkins University. He was a professor of Spanish literature and Romance languages.He is survived by his life partner of 31 years, Donald Kelley.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
