Obituary of James Darby

ALVADORE — The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City for James D. “Jake” Darby of Alvadore, who died March 8 at age 73. The family chose not to list the cause of death.Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.He was born Nov. 17, 1937, in Marshall, Mo., to Howard and Mary Hopkins Darby.He served in the Air Force. He worked as a field mechanic for International Paper Co. until his retirement.Survivors include two daughters, Clarissa Ogden of Springfield and Angela Darby of Kuna, Idaho; a son, Rodney of McKinleyville, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Remembrances to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Foundation in Fredericksburg, Va.
