Obituary of Ralph Klopp
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Ralph William Klopp of Eugene, who died March 18 of age-related causes. He was 88.He was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Greeley, Colo., to Charles and Grace Calander Klopp.He married Shirley Granger on Jan. 15, 1949, in Salem.He was in the Navy Reserves from 1942 to 1945 and participated in 16 major battles in the South Pacific during World War II. He won a Silver Star and eight Bronze Stars for his service.He was a printer at The Register-Guard for 22 years and was night foreman of the composing room for 10 years.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jane Bell of Eugene and Lois Brueggeman of Ogden, Utah; two sons, Steve of Springfield and Lester of Carnation, Wash.; a brother, Kenneth of Eugene; a sister, Aileen Shoptaugh of Eugene; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens
