Obituary of Marilyn Bradetich
Marilyn Marie Bradetich died on Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Eugene from complications of kidney failure in the presence of her children. The viewing will be Wednesday, April 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Musgrove Family Mortuary, 1152 Olive St. followed by burial at Lane Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, April 7th at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive St. Marilyn was born on July 25, 1932 in Portland and lived all but two years of her life in Oregon. She attended Cleveland High School in Portland and the University of Oregon. She was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was married to Joe Bradetich for 25 years and had four children: Joseph Paul, Jeffrey David, Terry Craig and Wendy Ann. She and her family settled in Eugene in 1962 attending Asbury United Methodist Church where many life-long friendships were established. After building their own home in the southwest hills of Eugene, she and her family joined the 1st United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for 30+ years. She performed frequently as alto soloist in many concerts and services throughout Eugene and was a member of: The Women's Choral Society; Schola Cantorium; Bach Festival Chorus, Chamber Singers, and the Eugene Opera and Symphony Chorus. Marilyn worked at the University of Oregon for 30 years as director of admissions for the Law School and School of Music. She received her Bachelors degree in History in 1984. On Mother's Day in 2006 she was the recipient of a kidney transplant, an act of giving that she encouraged everyone to consider. She is survived by her four children, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Remembrances: OHSU, UO School of Music, 1st United Methodist Church
