Obituary of Crystal Boyd

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today, April 8, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Crystal Elizabeth Boyd of Springfield, who died April 5 of cancer. She was 51.She was born Sept. 12, 1959, in Joplin, Mo., to Keith and Jacqueline Zanon Boyd.After high school graduation, she attended nursing school in San Jose, Calif. She worked in nursing and as a caregiver, and also worked as a squad boss as a firefighter in the forest.Survivors include her mother, now of Springfield; four children, Brittny McKinney and Geno McKinney, both of Springfield, Nicole Byrd of Yakima, Wash., and Sharolette Hill of Eugene; a sister, Grace Steele of Monroe, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.Remembrances to American Cancer Society.
