Obituary of Robert Thomas "Bob" Russell

RUSSELL: Robert Thomas "Bob" of Brandon passed away at Dinsdale Personal Care Home on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the age of 70 years. Formerly of Douglas, MB, Robert was born in Brandon on May 19, 1942 to John and Mary Russell. He worked for the Department of National Defence in Shilo and retired due to ill health. Robert was predeceased by his father and mother, John and Mary Russell and sisters Cornelia Russell, Beatrice Whittingham and Charlotte Cowell. He will be missed by his sister Margaret (Wrey) Vickery of Rivers, his brother John William "Bill" Russell and wife Audrey of Treesbank. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and the third floor staff at Dinsdale Personal Care Home. A Service to Celebrate Robert's Life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Craig Miller of Knox United Church officiating. A private graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery prior to the service. Active Pallbearers will be nephews Garth and Guy Vickery, Tyler Spring, Jarett Plewes, and neighbors from Douglas, MB, Jim Farthing and James Farthing. All in attendance will be considered Honorary Pallbearers. If friends desire, donations in memory of Robert may be made to Dinsdale Personal Care Home, 510-6th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 3N9.
