Obituary of Geraldine Ann Lange
LANGE: It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Geraldine (Dean) Ann Lange on December 5, 2012 in Calgary, Alberta, after a brief illness. Geraldine will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Marion and by her siblings Ken, Cheryl and Joyce. She was predeceased by her father, William and her grandparents. Geraldine was born and raised in Brandon. After finishing high school she went on to complete an undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba and later a Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Minot State College. She moved to Calgary to pursue her career. She had a strong sense of justice and was forever advocating for equal rights for the disabled. She had served on the Access Calgary Appeals committee as the chairperson for the past several years. Geraldine was also very creative; she could knit, sew, crochet and make jewelry. She was especially proud of the several 1st place ribbons she won after entering the craft competition at the Calgary Stampede. A time of visitation for family and friends will take place at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 7-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 327-4th Street, on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Kevin Smith as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Calgary Chapter, 200-8944 – 182nd Street, Edmonton, AB, T5T 2E3.
