Obituary of Ralph Roscoe Robinson
ROBINSON: Ralph Roscoe. It is with deep sadness that Ralph's family announces his passing on July 11, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Dad was born on July 21, 1921 in Cartwright, MB. He spent three years in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1945. On February 10, 1945, he married Alice Steward in Deloraine, MB. They were married for 55 years and had two sons, Ronald and Randy. In 1957, the family moved to Brandon. Dad worked at Canadian Motors before being employed by Assiniboine and Brandon General Hospitals until his retirement. In retirement, he spent many enjoyable years on the golf course and watching his Blue Jays on TV. He and Mum took many trips out West visiting family and spending time in Victoria, B.C. Dad had a special fondness for his grandchildren and great grandchildren who he called "the little darlings." He was very proud of his family and especially the achievements of his children and grandchildren. Dad was incredibly resilient and had a great love for life. His sense of humour has left us with many stories about Grampa that we will cherish for years to come. Ralph was predeceased by his wife Alice, on March 26, 2000 and son Ronald on July 17, 2001. Left to mourn are his son Randy (Wendy) of Onanole and daughter-in-law Joan of Victoria, B.C. Also surviving are grandchildren Lee (Stephanie) Robinson of Nanaimo, B.C.; Laird (Jennifer) of Langley B.C.; Jennifer (David) Dimaline of San Antonio, Texas; Jeremy (Juli) Robinson of Calgary, AB and several great grandchildren. We wish to thank the staff of Rideau Park Personal Care home for the care and attention given to Dad while living there. Many of the staff became good friends and he enjoyed their visits. We also thank the Doctors and Nursing staff in Palliative Care for their kindness and the excellent care provided to Dad. A Celebration of Ralph's Life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Lawrence McInnes, Funeral Celebrant, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, "Palliative Care," 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8 would be appreciated.
