Obituary of Lena Neault

NEAULT: Lena Neault (née Atamanchuk) (Grabowski) After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, our dear mother, baba, sister, aunt and mother-in-law peacefully slipped away from us into God's hands Monday, April 16, 2012 at the age of 84 years. Lena was born June 30, 1927 in Fishing River, Manitoba and resided in Brandon from 1948 until her passing. She was predeceased by her parents Kyrylo and Nellie Atamanchuk, husbands Tom Grabowski and Emile Neault, sister Olga, brothers John, Peter, Alec and Sam and grandson Michael. Left to cherish Lena's memory are her children Nestor Atamanchuk (Ronnie Jane), Addy Switzer (Dawson), Joyce Brown, Marcy Grice, Perry Grabowski, step-son Garry Potter (Marg), step-daughter Ilda Hildebrand (Harold); her beloved grandchildren Tanis Lowry, Zoe Atamanchuk, Trevor Atamanchuk, Jason Yakiwchuk, Becky Switzer, Jeff Switzer, Carrie Lee Klemmer, Ryan Grice, Jennifer Oltean, nine great grand children; her sisters Anne, Helen, Margaret and Liz; brother Paul, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank-you to the staff and doctors on A2 and A3 of the Assiniboine Centre who assisted with Lena's care in her final weeks. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and a private celebration of Lena's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation "Palliative Care," 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3 or a charity of choice is appreciated.
