Robert ChordPLEASANT HILL — A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Pleasant Hill Lutheran Church for Robert Lee Roy Chord of Pleasant Hill, who died April 23 of age-related causes. He was 86.He was born April 28, 1924, in Crosby, Minn., to William and Minnie Stone Chord. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Park on May 18, 1955, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.He attended Aitkin High School in Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees, 9th Special Stevedors, during World War II. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Papé Brothers Caterpillar for 18 years and for Earl McNutt Construction.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Roberta Chord of Dexter and Rita Tower of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Robin of Jasper, Arnold of Springfield and Robert of Anchorage; a brother, Silver of Fairbanks; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Inurnment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
