Joanne
Words seem so inadequate at a time like this. I learned a lot about your mom today at her service but the most impressing was the love she had for her family. May you find comfort in having her memories held close to your heart. I once read an inscription that said "Don't be sad because I am gone, but be happy because I was here". This so true, and obviously her life touched the lives of many. Take care and remember I love you. Carma and family

Being huge Wheat King fans like Joan, we were saddened to find out about her passing on the Wheaties web site. We have known Joan since we met her at the meat draws at the old Brandon Club many years ago. She never passed by without saying hello and sharing a part of her busy life with us both. She was a woman full of life and will be sadly missed. Please accept our deepest sympathy at this most difficult time.

The North End has lost an incredible icon. The time, dedication and countless hours your mom put into the North End Community Centre while we were growing up is huge. Joan played an active roll when I was voted North End Carnival Queen in 1972, and I will always remember that. Years later, as an adult, I would run into her and she always found the time to chat. I admired her high energy level. She adored her kids and left you a wealth of memories. My sincere condolences.

So sorry for your very sudden loss of your Mom and Grandmother. May you take comfort in the memories you have to treasure and in knowing she is in a better place. Time does ease the sting of the pain of losing a loved one and eventually the memories will bring a smile to your heart. God bless you all and comfort you.

Jane and I are very saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend Joan. We first met Joan in March of 1985 at the YMCA when she along with a hand-full of others were the first to join the Heart Rehab program. She became an instant "spark plug" of the group. Without her ,the many memorable Rehab social events swould not have happened. She throughly enjoyed all the people that became the Heart Rehab gang over the years and was a true advocate of the program. We have been good friends ever since, and have been blessed to have known her. Life was not always easy for Joan, but in recent years her expression of faith was an inspiration to our family. We will miss her.
