The North End has lost an incredible icon. The time,dedication and countless hours your mom put into the North End Community Centre while we were growing up is huge. Joan played an active roll when I was voted North End Carnival Queen in 1972, and I will always remember that. Years later, as an adult, I would run into her and she always found the time to chat. I admired her high energy level. She adored her kids and left you a wealth of memories. My sincere condolences.
