Obituary of Wilma Edith Shadlock
SHADLOCK: Wilma Edith Shadlock of Brandon, passed away at the Assiniboine Centre after a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Wilma was born at Foam Lake, SK on June 3, 1930, the oldest child to Eleanor and Clarence Parker. Wilma was predeceased by her parents. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband William "Bill" of 53 years, daughter Kim (Dave) Pilchar of Edmonton and son Richard (Sheila) of Brandon. Grandchildren Shannon (Jay), Jerilyn (Jesse), Ashley, Jennifer and Courtney. Great-grandson Landen and great-granddaughter Kaylin, and sister-in-law, Nancy Bach. Wilma moved to Brandon for employment when she was 17. She started working at Eaton's in 1954, and retired from there in 1993. Wilma and Bill enjoyed many years of 5 and 10 pin bowling with friends. In her retirement years, Wilma volunteered at Linden Lanes School and The Daly House Museum. She was a member of the Nifty Needlers group and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts and scrapbooking with and for her grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery.
