Obituary of Wilhelmina "Minnie" Mitchler
The death of Wilhelmina (Minnie) Mitchler occurred at Rideau Park Personal Care Home on Saturday, November 12, 2011, Brandon, MB at the age of 92 years. Minnie was born on July 16, 1919 at Waldersee, MB. She married Henry Mitchler on May 23, 1943. Together they farmed for many years in Kelwood and Glenella Districts, before moving to Brandon in 1965. She took on babysitting jobs, as she had a passion for children. Minnie is survived by her children; Lorraine (Frank) Skinner, Alice (Terry) Polnik, Clarence (Terri), Norman (Mary); grandchildren Todd Davies, Reid Davies, Ryan (Kristin) Polnik, Kassie (Dallas) Polnik, Cara (Chris) Lake, Chad Mitchler, Shawn Mitchler; great-grandchildren Hayley, Easton and Tyson Polnik, Cadence and Sienna Lake. Minnie is also survived by her sister Dorothy (Frank) Quiring, brother Walter (Dorothy) Mauthe, and sisters-in-law Bertha Mauthe and Margaret Mauthe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Henry, daughter Florence, parents Fred and Martha, sisters Helen and Katie, brothers Bill and Robert. A funeral service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 114 Ashgrove Blvd., on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Zinko officiating. Interment will follow at Brandon Cemetery.
