Obituary of Beryl McMannis

Beryl McMannis passed away on October 11th, 2011 at her residence at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home in Brandon, Manitoba at the age of 85 years. Beryl was born December 11th, 1925, near Oak River Manitoba to Annie and William McMannis, second youngest of six daughters. In 1926, the family moved to a farm near Rivers, Manitoba where Beryl completed her schooling. During the war she enlisted in the Canadian Women's Army Corps and was stationed in Ontario and Manitoba. After the war she worked as a legal secretary in law firms in Winnipeg and retired to Brandon. She enjoyed golfing in the summer and bowling in the winter and was a life long walker and reader. She enjoyed getting together with family and took great interest in all her nieces and nephews and their children. Beryl was predeceased by her parents, her sisters Lillias Westwood and Alvaretta (Reta) McMannis, her brothers-in-law Ray Whitton, Bob Treloar, Everett Westwood and A.J. (Doug) Treloar and her niece Michele Treloar. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters Peggy (Alex) Brennand of Virden, Mattie Treloar and Molly Treloar, both of Brandon, plus many cherished nieces and nephews. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
