Lyla, Kim, Daryl (Rocky) , Marla and families. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Lots of fond memories when we were all younger and the kids played together on camping trips and as we grew older and our friendship deepened. No more to hear "Hammerin Hank Hanowski" singing "Oh Lord it's Hard to be Humble". Love to all. Don, Sue, Sharon, Vic, Bill and families. Rest in Peace Hank, you will be missed by all who knew you.

Al and I go back as far as 1955 where we attended our RadOp course in Clinton, ON. Since that time our paths have crossed on numerous occasions including great times in Lahr, Germany. He was a good friend and a great person to work with. His quick wit and jovial personality will be remembered by those who knew him Our sympathy goes out to you Lyla and your family. What a shock to read Merv Embury's 'Last Post' about Hank's death. In Comm Sqn Lahr where Al became a good friend and oftimes mentor, we called him Hank. We also called him positive, supportive, uncritical of his fellow man and a guy who could cheer up any room at work or in the Mess with his witty asides (he could almost outplay me on the guitar too). You were one of the good ones, Al. May you be looking down at us with that perpetual smile we knew so well.

Dear Lyla and Family:
I was deeply saddened to hear of Al's passing. I was fortunate enough to have worked with Al during my years at RCAF Station Whitehorse. We were also on the same ball team for a couple of years while there. I remember clearly that Al was liked by all who knew him both at work and at play. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Lyla, Kim, Rock, Marla + grandchildren
We are so very sad to hear about Al's death. Bud so wished that he and Al could have played their guitar again - we had such great, great parties. He was such a good entertainer (we can still hear him sing "Fraulein") --- we do have a lot of great memories.
Both Blair and Bruce are sending you their condolences and are very sadden by Al's death. They too remember the good times we all had.
You certainly are all in our prayers and thoughts.
Love to you all.
Bud, Denise, Blair and Bruce

In my many years at Range Control, one of my highlights was having Al walk through the door always at least an hour or more before his shift, with a smile on his face and a story to tell. We talked many a time of the old days in the military, he managed to have a good tale to tell every time and I had many a laugh with him. He was a great man and will truly be missed by all. RIP Al.

Lyla and family...My sincerest condolences at Al's passing. I worked with him at Range Control for many years and it was always a treat when he walked through that door yelling out "Hello Kiddo"! Such a bundle of positive energy, great fun with his silly sayings and humourous stories. He loved his family as was so evident when he talked of you all. Cherish your wonderful memories of Al and may that assist you in this time of grief. I will miss him very much. Bless him and all of you. With fond regards, Yvette.
