Obituary of Jonathon Cargo
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, brother and son, Jonathon David Cargo on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the age of 31 years. Jonathon was born on July 23, 1979 in Canora, SK to parents Lane Englund and George Cargo. He attended school in Kipling, SK and Reston, MB. He graduated from Neepawa Collegiate in 1997 and attended Brandon University for two years. Jonathon worked at a variety of jobs, such as dishwashing, custodial work and meat cutting at Maple Leaf. He was a generous volunteer to many organizations, including Access Television in Neepawa and Community Kitchen, and was also a member and supporter of A.A. Jon was a voracious reader and movie watcher and enjoyed all genres. Jonathon married Marianne Pratt on July 15, 2006. They became the proud parents of Leland before Marianne's sudden death in January 2009. Jonathon is survived by his son Leland, his parents George Cargo and Lane Englund, brother Jeremy (Jen), sister Naomi (Derrick), nephews Nathan, Kane, Marcus, Lincoln and Gabriel, niece Samantha, grandmother Ruth Englund, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Marianne, his grandparents Art Englund, and Lionel and Grace Cargo, and nephew Dorian. The memorial service was held at St. Matthew's Cathedral on Friday, July 15, 2011 with Rev. Chad McCharles of St. James Anglican Church (Neepawa) officiating. Interment followed at Pratt Family Cemetery, Sioux Valley, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Westman Office, #23 – 12th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 4L6 or to the Beautiful Plains Community Foundation, Box 486, Neepawa, MB, R0J 1H0.
