Obituary of Debra Fraedrick

Debra Ellen Fraedrick of Eugene, Oregon passed away peacefully at home on Sunday May 1, 2011. Born on July 13, 1954 in Eugene, to Elaine Fraedrick and Glenn Burgess, Debra (Debbie) spent much of her childhood with her beloved grandparents, Aud and Eloise Fraedrick. She also spent much of her time with her Uncle and Aunt, Ron and Marylynn Fraedrick, as well as her cousins, Kim, Rhonda, and Joe; all of whom she loved dearly and considered to be parents and siblings. At South Eugene High School, Debbie was an excellent swimmer, skier and letter member of the dance team. Following high school, Debbie moved to San Francisco, California, where she met her future husband, Doug Hoff, a fellow South Eugene High School alumnus. After moving back to Eugene, Debbie and Doug started their family with a daughter, Julie, followed by another daughter, Kelly, and finally, the "Golden Child" Brian. Debbie devoted herself to raising her three children, volunteering at their schools, and never missing a baseball game or sporting event. While raising their three children, Debbie contracted Multiple Sclerosis. In spite of her illness, Debbie positively influenced the lives of everyone around her. She was well known for her kindness and generosity and her joyful and bright spirit. She made sure everyone felt special, and encouraged everyone to follow their dreams. She always had a positive attitude and a big smile. Finding the good in every situation, she encouraged others to do the same. Everyone who met her immediately loved her and felt compelled to live each day to its fullest. Debbie is survived by her three children, an uncle, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and many "chosen" family, all of whom will miss her dearly. There will be a Celebration of Life held at The Boulevard Restaurant on Franklin Blvd. on June 4th at 1 p.m. Anyone who was touched by Debbie's life is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The National MS Society, Oregon Chapter, 104 SW Clay Street, Portland, OR 97201. Please sign the guest book at www.registerguard.com/legacy
