Bert HeintzSPRINGFIELD — A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, at the Family Praise Center in Cottage Grove for Bert E. Heintz of Springfield, who died April 27 of age-related causes. He was 98.He was born March 20, 1913, in Everett, Wash., to Peter and Eva Gueddes Heintz. He married Lois Thomas on March 22, 1946, in Eureka, Calif.He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Valerie Keller of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, Roger of Beaverton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Private burial will be at Walker Union Church Cemetery near Cottage Grove.Arrangements by England’s Eugene Memorial Chapel.
