Percival ParrishSPRINGFIELD — A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Springfield Church of God for Percival Ray Parrish of Springfield, formerly of Dorena, who died April 28 of respiratory failure. He was 77.He was born Nov. 11, 1933, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Henry and Maggie Drake Parrish Sr. He married Christine Doersch in 1953 in Parma, Idaho; they later divorced. He then married Marilyn DeLaunay in 1977 in Eugene.He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1962 and was stationed in Germany. He worked in dam construction and helped build several Northwest dams. He was a champion spoon player and member of the bands Over Easy and the Sharps and Flats.He is survived by his wife; three sons, Ray Parrish of Cottage Grove, and Henry Parrish and James Parrish, both of Ontario; a daughter, Lurah Hughes of Springfield; a step-son, Tony DeLaunay of Springfield; three step-daughters, Michelle Bryan of Coos Bay, and Kim Olson and LaRae Kief, both of Eugene; a sister, Penny Hurlburt of Alvadore; a brother, Lee Parrish of Alvadore; and 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.Arrangements by England’s Eugene Memorial Chapel.
