Obituary of Kenneth James Poulson
POULSON: Mr. Kenneth James Poulson of Brandon passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the age of 84 years. Ken will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Doreen; sons Rod (Eleanor), Keith (Karen); daughters Roxanne (Guy), Rhonda (Gaynor); grandchildren Brooke (Ricky), Brett (Jocelyn), Eddy (Melissa), Brandy, Kelly, Ally, Liam, Amanda, Lori (Ed), Steven (Mary); brother Don and family; sisters Betty (Tony) and family, Lois (Frank) and family. Ken is also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous great grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons Monty Dale, Gary Douglas and sister Dorothy. Ken was born July 6, 1925 at Bassano, Alberta and farmed until 1948. He attended grade school in Dalemead and then continued his education at Olds Agricultural School. Ken was an aggressive sales person, whether it be in farm equipment, insurance or auto sales. He was a high achiever and won many awards as a result. In his later years before retirement, Ken had worked at Canadian Motors. He had a superb knowledge of cars as he could tell the type, the year and what they were worth by just a quick glance. Ken had a passion for life and loved to live and tell stories. A Celebration of Ken's Life was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. with The Very Rev. Robin Walker of St. Matthew's Cathedral officiating. Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Unit 3-824-18th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7 or to a charity of choice.
