Obituary of June Garner

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for June M. Garner of Mapleton, who died May 9 of age-related causes. She was 94. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.She was born May 31, 1916, in Arkansas to Joe and Minnie Hershey Jones. She married Lydes Garner on Dec. 21, 1938, in Arkansas. He died April 26, 2004.She was a homemaker.Survivors include four sons, Thomas of Umatilla, Roy of Deadwood, Gary of San Antonio, Texas, and Jerry of Eugene; three daughters, Lena Bice of Salem, Martha Christensen of Homer, Alaska, and Rita Johnson of Swisshome; a brother, Dexter Jones of Florence; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. A son, Lydes Garner Jr. died Sept. 6, 1967, in Vietnam and a granddaughter, Susie Nelson, died in 2000.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the American Diabetes Association.
