Obituary of P. Ron Clark

CLARK: It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Philip Ronald "Ron" Clark, on April 6, 2010 at the Assiniboine Centre. Ron was born July 30, 1934 and raised in Brandon. As a young boy he was very active; spending many hours at the South End Community Centre, YMCA, and playing basketball, baseball and hockey. Early in life he was recognized as a reliable employee, never missing a Brandon Greys game as score keeper. He also delivered, on his bike, for Smith's Drug Store. As a young man he worked at Massey Harris, Canada Paint and then in 1956 he started his 39 years of faithful service to the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission. He accepted a management position with the Commission which transferred him and his family to Thompson, MB from 1975 - 1979 where he enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time with new friends and the fellowship of Rotarians. In 1979, he returned to Brandon. Ron took pleasure in his home; finishing the basement and completely landscaping a yard and family vacations. July 8, 1995, Ron retired from the M.L.C.C. with the position District Supervisor. He continued his interests of golf, curling, gardening, wood working, travel and listening to music. He very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren whom he cherished. He will be remembered for his humour, reliability and devotion.
