Obituary of Bertha Ann Campbell

CAMPBELL: Bertha Ann Campbell passed away March 8, 2010. She was born February 16, 1916 in Melita to Gordon and Margaret Pineo. They moved to Chater in 1930. It was here she met and married Glen Campbell in 1946. Glen and Bertha farmed north of Chater until 1970 when they retired to Brandon. Glen passed away in 1992. Bertha remained in her home until 1997 when she moved to Hobbs Manor. In 2000, she moved to Dinsdale Personal Care Home until her passing. Bertha was involved in many community activities including 4H, UCW and watching many baseball games. She enjoyed a round of golf at Glen-Lea and curling at Douglas. She loved to go dancing. Bertha and Glen loved to travel with trips to Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, The Maritimes and USA. Bertha is survived by son Bill (Val) Campbell and daughter Pat (Denis) Bauldic; grandchildren Graham and Andrea Campbell, Laura (Michael) MacKenzie and Erin Bauldic; step grandchildren Lisa and Kevin. Bertha is also survived by her loving sister Mary Forsyth. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, husband Glen, brothers Jack and Charlie and sister, Margaret (Bissitt). Bertha was a loving wife, mother and friend. Her zest for life was infectious. We shall always remember her humour and happy smile. Gone but not forgotten. A Memorial Service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Saturday, March 13, 2010 with interment at Chater Cemetery. Donations in Bertha's memory may be made to a charity of choice.
