Obituary of Kristian Sand

Kristian Sand passed away on the 17th of May due to heart failure. He was born in BUR, DENMARK in 1919 to ANE and AKSEL SAND. After four years of apprenticing at FJALTRING CREAMERY, he became an accomplished cheese and butter maker. In 1949 he emigrated to Canada, then entered the U.S.A. in 1954. After selling encyclopedias for several years, he began working at the Meadow-Land Creamery in Eugene, Oregon. He married Birgit in 1964. He was a member of the Junction City Danish Brotherhood Lodge and also Eugene's Danish Lodge. Kristian was also a member of the Pacific Coast Singers Association and was active in Eugene's Norsemen's Chorus. He is survived by his wife Birgit, daughter Karen of Salem, son Karl Sand and his wife Jennifer of Central Point as well as his grandson Konner.
