Obituary of James "Jim" Jones
JONES: James (Jim) Henry died peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Saturday, June 6, 2020 with his wife, Arletta and step-daughter, Diane by his side. Jim was born on July 7, 1930 in Lenore, Manitoba and lived there until moving to Flin Flon to work at the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting in 1951. When Jim retired in 1987, he moved to Brandon where he met and married his wife, Arletta Dennison. Jim was a life member of the Brandon Elks Lodge #14 and the International Association of Machinists. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Margaret Jones; 5 siblings: brothers, George, Jack (Dorothy), sisters, Evelyn (Bill) McFadden, Margaret (Stan) Levitt, Alice (Marshall) DeMeulenaere and sister-in-law, Beverly Jones. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Arletta Dennison; step-daughter, Diane Dennison (Darrell Huta); step-son, Don Dennison (Lisa McAughey); brother, Alvin; 2 granddaughters Jenna Schoonbaert (Christopher Lynch), Jessica (Jesse) West and 2 great granddaughters, Staci and Karaline. As well, there are many nieces and nephews of whom he was very fond and kept in touch with throughout his life. Jim was a quiet, kind man and will be missed by all those that knew him.
