Obituary of Glenn Young

Glenn Edward Young died May 14, 2011 in Springfield, Oregon, he was 73 years old. He was born May 2, 1938 to Charles W. and Ella O. (Whitcomb) Young. He was a lifetime resident of Oregon. He graduated from Coburg High School with the class of 1956 and joined the US Marine Corps January of 1957. He received an Honorable Discharge as a "Lance Corporal" from the Marine Corps, January of 1960. He married Mary Grace Albee on March 21, 1964 in Eureka, California. They had two children, Jeffrey Glenn Young of Eugene, Oregon and Frederick Scott Witham of Ferndale, California. Glenn enjoyed Oregon life and all the outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, golf, boating and water skiing. He especially enjoyed time spent with family & friends. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Shadow Hills Country Club. He worked as a Sales Representative until his retirement in 2000. Glenn is survived by his wife Mary and two sons; Jeff and his wife Dione, and Scott and his wife Yan. He is also survived by his brother Roy W. Young and his wife Patricia of Eugene, Oregon, and four grandchildren, Justin & Jacob Young, Cody Witham & Pan Mei Liang. There will be a Celebration of Life on May 28, 2011, 4:00 pm at Louie's Village Restaurant, 947 Franklin Blvd. Eugene, Oregon 97403. A private inurnment will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Oregon Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America orAmerican Cancer Society.
