Please accept my deepest sympathies to the Calvert family. I worked with Alice for 12 years and found her to be a stone... a no nonsense lady that everyone respected and liked. She inserted her work ethic in her boys and through my years knowing her, to be one of the hardest working people I know. I call her a friend and will never forget her.

Please accept my deepest sympathy at this time of loss. I met Alice when I moved to the old Gym building from Student Services in 2007, where she helped me set up my basement office. Until my retirement in 2012, Alice's was usually the first face I saw each morning, always smiling and always positive, even when winter turned the basement into a dark hole. She was infinitely proud of her family, and she and I shared lots of warm stories about our children. She even gave me some Disney items her boys had outgrown to pass on to my Disney loving grandchildren. Alice was a wonderful, warm person, and I know how much she will be missed by all those who knew her.

Dear Leo and family, so saddened to hear of Alice's passing. She was a pleasure to work with during my time at the HLC. Her work ethic and dedication to her job and how she supported the young student staff always bringing them fresh baking or celebratory seasonal treats with that special decorating touch of Alice was the best. And talk about passion, she was so passionate in everything she did or believed in. She was proud of her boys but in her stoic and humble way, and when you asked how the game went her face lite up. She touched my life and will forever be remembered in my heart. Prayers to you all.

Sad to hear of Alice's passing. Though retired from Brandon University and the Department of Physical Education I have fond memories of Alice and her work at our gym and in recent years the Healthy Living Centre. Her work ethic was second to none! I always enjoyed our chats in the hallways and gymnasium. Often she went above the call of duty to clean and prepare our facilities for weekend tournaments. After weekend tournaments she worked extra hard to bring our facility back to normal. Always pleasant to work with and generous in every way. She will be greatly missed. Our condolences to the whole family.
