Obituary of Donald Vanderlin

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday June 6 at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Donald H. Vanderlin of Eugene, who died on May 28 of cancer. He was 86.He died on Sept. 21, 1924, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Arthur and Myrtle Skinner Vanderlin. He married Dorothy Hinkle in 1950 in Coos Bay. She died in 1972. He married Jeanne Proden on June 20, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nev.He served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He worked in the woods and welded in ship yards before the war and later worked as a millwright for Georgia Pacific, Weyerhaeuser and Evans Plywood.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe of Eugene and Rick of Dexter; two stepsons, Carl Proden of Vancouver, Wash., and Pat Proden of Pleasant Hill; 13 grandchildren and 10 grandchildren.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
