Obituary of Ruth Villanueva

Ruth VillanuevaRuth A. Villanueva of Eugene died June 9 of complications from congestive heart failure. She was 82. A private family service is planned.She was born Nov. 4, 1928, in Albany to Emery and Bessie Odom Thompson.She married Bert Villanueva on Feb. 2, 1954, in North Hollywood, Calif.She held a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Oregon. She worked as a first-grade teacher at McCornack Elementary School in Eugene for 24 years. She taught fourth grade at Willakenzie Elementary for two years and retired in December 1986.Survivors include her husband; a son, Al of Eugene; and two grandchildren.Inurnment will be at Willamette Memorial Park in Albany. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice or the Relief Nursery.
