Obituary of Edward Bellamy

Edward BellamyThe funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Edward “Ed” Bellamy of Eugene, formerly of Creswell, who died June 13 of cancer-related causes. He was 84.He was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Shirley, Ark., to Wilburn and Malissa Craig Bellamy. He married Betty Brush on Jan. 14, 1980, in Lake Tahoe, Nev. She died in 2003.He served on a troop transport carrier in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He worked for Chevron Oil Company for about 30 years and retired as a maintenance supervisor in 1984.Survivors include two daughters, Karen Payne of California and Jerry Fenley of Dexter; two sons, Douglas Bellamy of Creswell and David McDaniel of New Mexico; a brother, Chuck Price of Florence; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.Inurnment will be at Creswell Pioneer Cemetery.Remembrances to Creswell or Pleasant Hill athletic funds.
