Jack TrentA memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Sonrise Christian Church in Eugene for Jack Trent of Bonnerdale, Ark., former longtime resident of Eugene, who died June 20 of age-related causes. He was 87. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.He was born April 25, 1924, in Boswell, Okla., to Ray and Georgia Bonds Trent. He married Barbara McKeown on Nov. 6, 1943, in Hugo, Okla. She died in February 2006.He served in the Army during World War II. He was a longtime musician, playing with Buck Owens and Merle Haggard in Bakersfield, Calif. He worked for Weyerhaeuser for 19 years, retiring in 1986.Survivors include three sons, Bill of Bonnerdale, Larry of McMinnville and John of Eugene; three daughters, Wanda Kindy of Salem, Brenda Kast of Drummond, Mont., and Janice Smith of Eugene; two brothers, A.J. of Tehachapi, Calif., and John of Boswell; a sister, Ann Stillwell of Hugo; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. An infant son, Jerry Trent, died previously.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Remembrances to Sonrise Christian Church.
