Obituary of Ruth Gwendolyn Stone

ELMIRA — A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City for Ruth Gwendolyn Stone of Elmira, who died June 25 of dementia and age-related causes. She was 96.She was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Adair, Iowa, to Myron and Jenny Starr Peters. She married Raymond Stone on May 31, 1933, in Winterset, Iowa. He died Feb. 24, 1990.She was a homemaker and worked as a salad girl at the Bon Marche and Timber Room.Survivors include two sons, Marlin of Eugene and Boyd of Springfield; two daughters, Marilyn Stone of Klamath Falls and Ruby Dupire of Coquille; a sister, Alice of Logan, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A son, Harold Arlo Stone, died previously.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.
