Obituary of Jerry Way

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield, for Jerry E. Way of Springfield, who died July 12 of age-related causes. He was 85.He was born March 19, 1926, in Smithfield, Neb., to Thomas and Lillian Hibbs Way. He married Dorothy Smith, on Feb. 2, 1946, Phillipsburg, Kan.He graduated from high school in Smithfield, Neb. He worked as a Mercedes-Benz auto technician for Hutchins Imported Motors in Springfield until his retirement.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Beth Shellenberger of Keizer and Ranee Thompson of Springfield; a son, Terry Way of Eugene; and two sisters, Shirley Robb of Kearney, Neb., and Norma Langenberg of Holdrege, Neb.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Springfield.
