Obituary of Joan Nugent

Joan NugentA memorial Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Eugene for Joan C. Nugent of Eugene, who died July 13 of age-related causes. She was 84.She was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Hastings, Neb., to Fred and Elsie Petersen Christensen. She married James Nugent on Aug. 20, 1966, in Eugene; he died in 2006.She graduated from Eugene High School and attended the University of Oregon. She worked in retail sales and at the UO ticket office, and she was a homemaker.Survivors include three sons, Chris Bell and Jim Nugent, both of Eugene, and Mark Bell of Hood River; two daughters, Jan Krier of Wilsonville and Joan Schaaf of Eugene; two sisters, Cathy Kaba of Eugene and Jean Coyle of Portland; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Private family inurnment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eugene.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice.
