Obituary of Gordon D. Smith

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Gordon Daniel Smith of Springfield, who died July 19 of age-related causes. He was 85.He was born May 10, 1926, in Livingston, Mont., to William and Wilda Bassett Smith. He married Josephine Reiter on Nov. 2, 1945, in Seattle. She died Oct. 14, 2007.He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for the railroad and was a millworker.Survivors include four daughters, Wilda Davis and Gail Craytor, both of Springfield, Rena Jaques of Utah and Marilyn McCreary of Sweet Home; a son, Michael of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Larry of Nevada; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
