Obituary of Jack Gentry
Jack Gentry of Harrisburg died July 3, 2011. He was 60 years old.Jack was born November 28, 1950 to Delbert "Jim" Gentry and Betty (Mills) Gentry in Lebanon. Jack served in the US Navy in the 1970's and was an Engineering Laboratory Technician at the Surface Ship Nuclear Propulsion Plant aboard ship.He received an associate degree in computer programming and electronics at the Lane Community College in Eugene and worked at KVAL Television in the engineering department. He also worked for Monaco and Country Coach. For the past 10 years, Jack worked for States Industries.He is survived by Anita Rieke, his domestic partner for 30 years, his mother; Betty McCown and stepfather; Fred McCown Sr., both of Lebanon, two sons; Toby Gentry of Fort Stewart, GA and Randall Rieke of Harrisburg, three daughters; Tammie Parker of Springfield, Julie Spicer of harrisburg and Emily Malpass of Idaho, two brothers; Bill Gentry of LaCenter, WA and Terrry Gentry of Vancouver, WA, 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.A celebration of life will take place from 2-4 pm on Saturday July 23 at Halsey Memorial Park.Memorial Contributions can be sent to Greenhill Spay and Neuter Program or the Feral Cat Coalition.
