HARRISBURG — A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Junction City for Stewart Rudolph Johnson of Harrisburg, who died July 29 of pancreatic cancer. He was 72.He was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Short Creek, Ariz., to Melvin and Ruth Dean Johnson. He married Susan Penfold on Jan. 15, 1982, in Salt Lake City.He served two years in the Army and worked for 16 years as a machinist and night foreman at Cascade Plating.Survivors include his wife; eight daughters, Sue Johnson of Bountiful, Utah, Michelle Johnson of Clearfield, Utah, Shannon Shuman of Preston, Idaho, Carrie Hathaway of Logan, Utah, Laura James of Venus, Texas, and Melissa Upshaw, Sharon Morrell and Anna Johnson, all of Harrisburg; three sons, Shaun of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Shaun and Matthew, both of Harrisburg; six sisters, Noreen Jessop of Fredonia, Ariz., and Peggy Jessop, Sally Steel, Sylvia Dutson, Ruthie Biglow and Rose Mary Jessop, all of Colorado City, Ariz.; and four brothers, Mark of Baker City, Eugene of Colorado City, Melvin of Fredonia and Ivan of Las Vegas; and 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew and Leon Johnson, and Jeremy Gotberg.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.Remembrances to the American Cancer Society.
