Obituary of Joanne Ralston - Tipler

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 6 at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Joanne Ralston Tipler of Florence, who died July 22 of complications of Parkinson’s disease. She was 74.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.She was born Sept. 25, 1936, in Portland to Edwin and Rose Houser Larson. She married Ray Ralston on Dec. 19, 1954, in Yankton, Ore.; they divorced in 1978. She married Merle Tipler on June 28, 1981, in Florence.She graduated from St. Helens High School in 1954 and attended the University of Oregon. She was owner and president of Travel Tyme Tours in Florence from 1985 to 2006.Survivors include her husband; her former husband; a son, David Ralston of Springfield; two daughters, JR Ralston of Vancouver, Wash., and Jan Smith of Springfield; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Private burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene.Remembrances to the Lane County Audubon Society.
