Obituary of Michael Harvey Turmaine
TURMAINE: Michael Harvey. Sadly, we announce the sudden death of Mike on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 due to cardiac and vascular failures. Mike will be missed by all who knew him and lovingly remembered by his family, sister Deb, brothers John and Joe, their wives Brenda and Sharon, nephews, nieces, cousins, possibly a daughter that he never met, and an aunt (Rosemary) and uncle (Ray) in Thunder Bay. Mike had a big heart. He had friends that have been there for years, both guys and girls. Some of his longer term lady friends have been part of his life for the past thirty years, but his life never quite turned out as he had hoped. Had it been scripted differently, Mike might still be with us today. His big heart kept him close to home for the past decade where he provided primary care to his father, Wilf, until his passing in 2010, and for the past three years he has been looking after his sister, Deb. Mike had requested that there be no ceremony to mourn his passing, but that all who knew him take a few minutes to remember better days. Michael was an animal lover and often took in strays. He had room in his heart and a home for many a stray cat. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations in memory of Mike may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6. At Mike's request, his ashes will be dispersed at his favorite fishing spot. He was at peace with the world there and will be once again.
