Dear Family,
I met Dave when I came to Walt Whitman. My first thoughts were of his gentle smile and friendly good morning greeting when we met in the hallway and whenever I had to meet with him about a student. I am truly sorry for your loss. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
John and I extend our deepest sympathy to you, Charlene, and your family. We have many happy memories of the time we spent with you and Dave in MD, and are grateful to have known him.

Dave was a great teacher and a good friend. He helped me and everyone around him be better at their jobs. It was an honor to know him and I was very grateful for the opportunity to meet you. He will be missed at Whitman, and I'm sure, everywhere he went.
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Dave at Walt Whitman H.S. and admired Dave as a teacher. He was a kind and gentle man.
