Obituary of Walter McLaughlin

Walter McLaughlinA memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Trinity Methodist Church in Eugene for Walter N. “Mac” McLaughlin of Eugene, who died Aug. 10 of heart failure. He was 89.He was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Billings, Mont., to Herbert and Mabel Lanham McLaughlin. He married Marion Knudson on Dec. 28, 1946, in Lewistown, Mont.He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Oregon in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps military police. He worked as director of business affairs for the University of Oregon and was a certified public accountant.Survivors include his wife; two sons, James of Elmira and Thomas of Portland; two daughters, Rebecca McLaughlin of Helena, Mont., and Heidi Johnson of Ridgefield, Wash.; a brother, Robert of Terre Haute, Ind.; and a sister, Ruth Watters of Clackamas; and four grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
