Dorothy DeYoungSPRINGFIELD — Dorothy Rosella “DeDe” DeYoung of Springfield died Aug. 15 of complications from tobacco use. She was 83. No service is planned.She was born Dec. 25, 1927, in Glen Ellen, Ill., to Harold and Cecilia Novak Keltner. She married Robert DeYoung on Jan. 21, 1952, in Honolulu. He died Nov. 24, 1986.She attended one year of college at the University of Oregon. She was a homemaker, sculptor and watercolorist.Survivors include two daughters, Pam Schmieding of Eugene and Dana Askay of Lafayette, Calif.; a brother, Harold Keltner Jr. of The Villiages, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary.
