Obituary of Irena Lysak

After a courageous battle Irena passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. Beloved wife of Stanislaw for 50 years. Loving mother of Joanna (Edwin), Barbara (Luke) and Krystyna (Jeff). Proud grandmother of Brandon, Christopher, Erika, Ethan, Nathan and Matthew. Cherished sisters of Hanka (Czesiek) and Czeska (Jozek) and brothers Adam (Zoska) and Staszek (Hanka).Irena was born in Poland and lived there until she came to Canada in January 1988. She settled in Oakville with her husband Stanislaw and 3 daughters and worked tirelessly to support and build the foundation for the family. She was generous, hospitable and always caring and made every effort during holidays to host family gatherings and celebrations to keep the tradition. Irena was always selfless and would go above and beyond to help and provide sound advices. She loved gardening, camping and travelling up north in her trailer and has ventured east to as far as Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. She always reminded us of how beautiful Canada is and how blessed we are to live here. Her cooking was always loved by her family but it was her relentless caring, unconditional love and keeping family close that provided her with the most happiness.Irena will be deeply missed by her family, her nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. A Funeral mass service will be held at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Oakville on Friday, October 23, 2020. Burial to follow at Glen Oaks Cemetery.
